Amazon delivery driver warns about mistakes outside homes that ‘could cost lives’

An Amazon delivery driver who went viral after “saving her customer’s life” with a warning has revealed other potentially dangerous common mistakes homeowner’s make.

Kelley was filmed earlier this month telling customer Jennifer Huseman about the pitfalls of not having a number outside her house after she tried to make a delivery.

The doorbell camera caught her saying: “What if you needed medical assistance and the paramedics didn’t know your town well, come on man.”

The clip, posted to Jennifer’s TikTok @_jesshopehuse, was seen a staggering 3.5 million times and thousands of viewers thanked Kelley for the advice.

And such was the popularity of the video, she has now decided to make her own TikTok account to reveal more of the common mistakes householders can make.

In one clip that she stitched onto the original doorbell footage, she explained: “Just one thing that I notice when I walk up to households baby.

“Other things I notice – unclear entrances and exits, what if you need to leave your house or EMS needs to come into your house?

“Thinking about clear pathways, I oftentimes see a lot of bikes, like kids bikes next to the front doors, that scares me.

“I used to work in ResLife and Student Affairs so crisis management and prevention education is essential and literally a part of my soul, so anytime I go out and deliver packages or make any deliveries if I see something, I say something.”

Again, the informative video proved hugely popular and has so far been seen more than 100,000 times.

“My absolute favourite part of this is that you were more concerned with their safety than being inconvenienced while you worked,” one viewer wrote.

Another commented: “You’re the coolest. Love your attitude and that you genuinely care.”

Emergency services workers also commented saying how important the advice was in saving people’s lives.

“As a medic, thank you,” one simply said.

A fourth agreed, adding: “As a paramedic, thank you for this. Finding houses without numbers is the worst.”

And someone else wrote: “Retired paramedic. She is 100% correct. Protect yourself and get some large numbers on your house and mail box. If it’s out front, spray paint on curb too.”
