Bride sends invoices to no-show wedding guests | Photo

One wedding guest was floored to receive a letter from the bride in a move that’s been labelled “tacky” by others.

A wedding guest was left astounded when they received an invoice of $US240 ($A331) from the bride after they failed to show up at her wedding.

Taking to Reddit, the disgruntled guest shared a snap of their bill after being charged for themselves and a plus one.

The bill was listed for the service of “Wedding Reception Dinner (No Show)” with the unit price being $120 (£90) and the quantity of two.

The description read: “This invoice is being sent to you because you confirmed seat(s) at the wedding reception during the Final Headcount.

“The amount above is the cost of your individual seats.

“Because you didn’t call or give proper notice that you wouldn’t be in attendance, this amount is what you owe us for paying for your seat(s) in advance.

“You can pay via Zelle or PayPal. Please reach out to us and let us know which method of payment works for you. Thank you!”

The post prompted a mixed response on Reddit, with many slamming the bride as “petty”.

One wrote: “Accepting a wedding invite isn’t entering into a legal contract with each other. A social contract, sure, but this is just tacky. It’s a party (during a pandemic). Stuff happens.”

“Super f***ing petty,” agreed another, while a third added, “Aaaaaand I‘d be putting that into the recycle bin. The end.”

However, there were some who stepped in to defend the bride.

One said: “It’s sh*tty not to announce it if you won’t make your RSVP.”

“Don‘t bail on people’s weddings unless it’s an absolute emergency,” added another.
