BRITNEY Spears did “NOT hit her housekeeper” and is “upset” a staffer called the cops after a “minor” argument, a source close to the star told The Sun.
On Monday, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident at Britney’s Los Angeles mansion and the 39-year-old is still currently being investigated, officers confirmed.
The alleged altercation happened due to a dispute about the way Britney was treating her dog.
Despite the housekeeper filing a misdemeanor battery report with officials after Britney allegedly “slapped” a phone out of her hand, a source close to the entertainer told The Sun that she “didn’t hit anybody.”
An insider claimed: ”Britney did not hit her housekeeper, she didn’t hit anybody. She had no physical contact with anyone in her household.
“There was an argument on Monday over one of Britney’s dogs which led to cops being called but there were no injuries, not even a scratch.
“Cops being called was an exaggerated reaction to the situation.”
Ventura Sheriff officials confirmed that there were “no physical injuries” with any parties involved.
The source continued that Britney was “upset” when cops arrived because she did not think calling them was “justified”
However, the informant alleged she was “in no way hysterical or difficult.”
“She did not talk to authorities when they arrived but she did not have her lawyer present, that’s a normal, and smart, decision to make in that situation,” they added.
The insider also claimed that the housing staff was not hired by Britney as that “would have to go through her father since he is the one paying them.”
“It hasn’t been decided if the housekeeper will remain in the house but the decision would not be up to Britney alone, her dad would have to sign off too,” they concluded.
Britney allegedly slapped the housekeeper’s phone away from her grasp after she took one of her dogs to the vet, The Sun can confirm.
INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY
The alleged incident occurred Monday at Britney’s house just outside of Los Angeles, and Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies responded.
However, officials told The Sun that there were “no injuries” and “no arrests” were made.
Brit’s staffer reportedly told the cops that she took one of the singer’s dogs to get checked out because she claimed she wasn’t happy with how the pet was being treated.
She claimed upon her return, she and Britney got into a disagreement about the pup’s health, allegedly leading to Britney knocking the housekeeper’s phone right out of her hands.
The woman filed a report at the Sheriff’s station after the alleged incident – which officials said will be handed over to the District Attorney’s office “probably on Friday.”
This investigation follows just after Britney scored a major victory in the ongoing conservatorship case.
Earlier this month, docs filed by Jamie Spears’ lawyer stated he will be stepping down as his daughter’s conservator.
However, it will still be a long road as to when – or if – Jamie will be removed from the conservatorship.
