The highly anticipated movie and sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins anime, The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light, is coming to Netflix this fall. There was always some idea that the show would be arriving this fall. However, now there is an actual release date. Interestingly, likely because of the coronavirus pandemic, the release date is going to cause some problems for fans of the franchise.
Netflix is planning on still releasing several episodes of the series. That means what when Cursed by Light launches, people could get spoiled. The movie is set to launch in October, ahead of the final run of the anime series.
For those who don’t know and are looking for something good to watch on the streaming service, The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light is an upcoming Netflix Original anime movie and sequel to the highly popular Seven Deadly Sins anime series. The movie is directed by Takayuki Hamana, with the story written by creator Nakaba Suzuki, however, the screenplay was written by Rintarō Ikeda.
Seven Deadly Sins Under New Management
The franchise hasn’t always been handled by the same studio. That might be another reason why the release of the series and the movies are somewhat disjointed.
Studio Deen took over the production ofA1-Pictures for the remaining two seasons of Seven Deadly Sins, and they have also been behind the production of Cursed by Light. This has meant that, the animation for the movie looks significantly better than the anime series.
Of course, it’s hardly the first time that an animated movie has looked better than an animated series.
When Is Cursed By Light Coming?
It has been confirmed that The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light is coming to Netflix on Friday, October 1st, 2021.
The second movie in the series will be available to stream globally on Netflix.
The movie will pick up after the end of The Seven Deadly Sins, which means there are going to be some spoilers for those who haven’t seen the end of the most recent season.
After defeating successfully defeating the Demon King, the world has found peace for the first time in many long years. The wedding ceremony for King and Diane is interrupted. An army of Fairies and Giants have arrived. Lead by the missing ” Second Fairy King” Dahlia, and the “Giant Master Craftsman” Dubs. They seek to punish the seven deadly sins and all those that contributed to the Holy War.
Things get complicated once Cursed by Light lands. It’s not clear when additional episodes of the series are expected. Some might want to hold out until they air. However, that likely means viewers will be waiting a while. However, the new episodes are coming at some point.
