As August begins to draw to a close, Netflix is continuing to add the final additions of its August 2021 content list. On Monday, Aug. 23, the streamer began to stock the first of what will be 21 new titles. The new additions, 14 of which are Netflix original series, movies, and specials, will continue rolling out into the streaming library through Friday, leading to a round of all-new titles set to be added this weekend!
This week’s additions include more than just a few heavy hitters. More than a year after Netflix’s hit original The Witcher premiered, the streamer is taking fans on a new journey with its highly-anticipated spinoff The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. The film dropped in the library on Monday, leading this week’s round of new titles, which also includes the third installment of the sports documentary UNTOLD. This week’s third episode delves deeper into yet another story in the world of sports as it looks at Olympic medalist Caitlyn Jenner. Netflix subscribers will also be treated to the likes of a Bob Ross documentary and a new series based off of one of Netflix’s hit Netflix Family films!

‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’
After months of waiting, the highly-anticipated The Witcher spinoff The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf made its way to Netflix on Monday, Aug. 23. A prequel to the Netflix series and he franchise’s first step into animation, the anime is set hundreds of years before the events of the main series before Geralt of Rivia was created and focuses on Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir, in his youth. Vesmir is voiced by Theo James, with the Nightmare of the Wolf’s voice cast alos including Sherlock‘s Lara Pulver as Tetra, The Hobbit‘s Graham McTavish as Deglan, and Battlestar Galactica‘s Mary McDonnell as Lady Zerbst.
‘UNTOLD: Caitlyn Jenner’
On Tuesday, Aug. 24, the third installment of Netflix’s new sports documentary UNTOLD is being added. Initially premiering on the platform on Aug. 10, the five-part docuseries event takes a look at to epic tales from the wide world of sports, delving into what happened beyond the headlines, as told by those who lived. The first installment delved into the famous Pacers-Pistons brawl, with the second looking at Christy Martin and her battles in and out of the ring. This week’s episode will focus on Caitlyn Jenner as she Jenner traces her life with new insight from winning gold to making the decision to transition to her relationship with her children.
‘Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed’
Netflix is delving into the never-before-told story behind Bob Ross, the prolific landscape artist, in its new documentary Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed. Known for his keen appreciation for nature and kind and gentle demeanor, Ross became a cultural phenomen on his The Joy of Painting series, where he encouraged people to embrace their creativity and believe in themselves and, perhaps most notably, reminded them that there were no mistakes – just happy accidents. But behind the happy story lays a darker tale of betrayals surrounding the work and estate of the beloved painting icon. Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed is set to be made available for streaming on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
‘He’s All That’
Netflix is reimagining the beloved 1999 teen classic She’s All That in its latest tale, He’s All That. Slated for a Friday, Aug. 27 debut, the Mark Waters-directed film follows Padgett Sawyer, an influencer who accepts a challenge to turn the school’s least popular boy, Cameron Kweller, into prom king in an attempt to save her reputation after her humiliating on-camera breakup goes viral. He’s All That stars Addison Rae, Tanner Buchanan, Madison Pettis, Rachael Leigh Cook, and Peyton Meyer.
‘I Heart Arlo’
Beloved half human and half alligator boy Arlo is headed back to Netflix with a sequel! After documenting Arlo’s journey from the swamp in the April-released hit animated musical movie Arlo the Alligator Boy, sequel series I Heart Arlo is headed to Netflix on Friday. The series follows Arlo and his eclectic group of friends as they learn how to live together in a community, where everyone has their own idea of what’s fun.

What’s leaving this week?
As Netflix adds the list of new titles this week, it will not be saying goodbye to many. In fact, only two titles will be exiting the streaming library, with The Angry Birds Movie 2 leaving on Thursday and A Princess for Christmas departing on Friday. As the month draws to a close, though, Netflix is gearing up to say goodbye to several more titles.
