DJ Khaled and Tyler The Creator’s beef explored

Khaled and Tyler’s beef dates back to 2019.

Tyler, The Creator’s album Igor and Khaled’s Father of Asahd were released on May 17 by Epic Records and Columbia Records respectively. However, the former turned out to be a bigger hit in terms of total activity and album sales.

In the weeks following the albums’ release, a chart battle ensued between the two. However, a bundle promoting Father of Asahd was disqualified from being added to the total tally of sales for the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

As a result the No. 1 spot was secured by Tyler’s Igor as Khaled lost around 101,000 direct-to-consumer album sales.

A massively displeased Khaled went on a mission to unearth the reason behind this. He posted a video on Instagram, allegedly throwing shade at Tyler.

In the clip, he is heard saying, “I make albums so people can play it and you actually hear it. You know, driving your car, you hear another car playing it. You know, go to the barbershop, you hear them playing it, you know, turn the radio on, and you hear them playing it. It’s called great music. It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious sh*t that you never hear it.”

Tyler responded to the diss by trolling the Miami-based rapper after his album Igor outsold Khaled’s Father of Asahd.

A look at ‘Igor’ singer’s recent interview

Back in 2019, the beef ran out of fuel after both musicians stopped taking digs at each other. However, in his recent interview, Tyler addressed the beef and said, “Bro that Khaled thing was like, it was fun, it was just watching a man die inside.”

He went on to say that Khaled’s ego was damaged after coming second. The singer also said that the Miami rapper’s whole identity is based on being No. 1. Hence, losing first place damaged his ego. However, in the end, Tyler stated that he had no hard feelings towards the We The Best boss.
