Has a release date been confirmed?

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will return for another season, but what date could Stone Ocean release and how can fans around the world watch online?

On April 4th during a live-streamed event, it was finally revealed that the anime adaptation of Stone Ocean was to be produced and absolutely no one was shocked.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has become a cult classic, an icon of modern anime and part of internet pop-culture. Plus, with plenty more manga left to adapt, it was a sure thing that Stone Ocean would arrive at some point.

The season will focus on Jolyne Cujoh, the daughter of Jotaro Kugo and great-granddaughter of Joseph Jostar, who is in jail after being framed for manslaughter.

What date could Stone Ocean release?

  • At the time of writing, a release date for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean has not been confirmed by David Productions animation studio.

However, we are expecting a release window to be revealed this weekend, as part of an online event for Stone Ocean – this article will be updated accordingly.

Unfortunately, predicting a potential release date is remarkably difficult due to the unusual production schedule of previous seasons.

Small Town News: KPVM Pahrump (2021): Official Teaser

Season 3 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Diamond is Unbreakable) was announced in October 2015 and premiered in April 2016. However, season 4 of the hit series (Golden Wind) was confirmed in June 2018 and premiered in October the same year.

Assuming that production on Stone Ocean has already begun and that the season will follow a similar production schedule for these previous seasons, fans can expect the series to return four to six months after the announcement.

This would put JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean as premiering in either September or October 2021 – with October being more likely to coincide with the start of the Fall 2021 anime slate.

However, fans should note that a January 2022 launch (on the Winter slate) is also a possibility.

This article will be updated as soon as more information is revealed.

Voice cast and staff…

At the time of writing, only two cast members have been officially confirmed, with Fairouz Ai as Jolyne Cujoh and Daisuke Ono as Jotaro Kujo.

Fans will recognise Fairouz Ai as Takechiyo from Yashahime or Kay from Monster Girl Doctor. She will also star in Crunchyroll’s upcoming series ‘Skeleton Knight in Another World’.

Daisuke Ono is a legend of anime voice overs and fans will 100% know at least one of his roles in the past. Such works include Erwin from Attack on Titan, Fafnir from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and Shintarō Midorima from Kuroko’s Basketball.

However, a new key visual for Stone Ocean, leaked onto social media, has revealed some more of the characters. These include Foo Fighters (Mariya Ise), Emporio Alniño (Atsumi Tanezaki), Weather Report (Yuichiro Umehara), Narciso Anasui (Daisuke Namikawa), and Ermes Costello (Mutsumi Tamura).

How to stream Stone Ocean…

At the time of writing, it has not been confirmed which of the international streaming platforms (Crunchyroll, Funimation, Netflix, Amazon or Hulu) will be broadcasting Stone Ocean.

Crunchyroll is the most likely destination for JoJo fans, with the previous instalment of Golden Wind simulcasting on the platform.

It is also likely that the new season could simulcast on Hulu, who have all of the previous seasons and are really pushing into the anime streaming game.

This article will be updated as soon as more information is revealed.
