A recent TikTok challenge, called the school bathroom challenge, sees students stealing random things such as soap dispensers from their schools.
The online platform has become famous for its countless challenges and trends that offer entertainment, hilarious videos and useful hacks for users.
But recently there have been some trends on the rise which see people do reckless things that have received many negative reactions on social media.
So, what is the school bathroom challenge all about and how did it first start?
HOW DID THE TIKTOK SCHOOL BATHROOM CHALLENGE?
This trend sees students steal random things from their schools such as soap dispensers and toilet paper dispensers.
Some have even gone too far by stealing whole tiles and sinks, as well as other objects at their schools such as printers and computers.
In one of the early videos on TikTok, a user says that they have stolen a soap dispenser from their school’s bathroom, referring to the item as a “devious lick.”
The trend stems from a viral TikTok video shared by user @dtx.2cent. Unzipping his backpack and pulling out a bottle of hand sanitizer, the user captioned the video “only a month into school and got this absolute devious lick.”
ONE SCHOOL HAS WARNED STUDENTS
One school has warned students that there will be consequences if they continue taking part in the challenge and has urged them to “stop this behaviour now”.
As shared by TikTok user @drexerss, one of the teachers can be heard saying: “For those that are participating, please know that when we do catch you we will discipline you to the fullest extent and you will be arrested and you will be responsible for any of the monetary damages that have been done. Again, this needs to stop.”
The teacher continues in the video: “Because of the antics of a few, unfortunately we have had to close the purple bathroom for the boys. That means the blue bathroom and the green bathroom are open for the rest of the day. However, because of the antics of a few, we don’t have soap in any of the boys restrooms in blue, green or purple nor do we have any more soap dispensers so you will not be able to thoroughly wash your hands.
“Please make sure that everyone listens to this very clearly. When we catch you, there will be consequences. Please stop this behaviour now.”
