Kinky toy sees 500% surge in sales

A lingerie retailer has seen a huge 500% spike in sales since introducing an X-rated promise to its customers.

The Australian brand promised customers their money back if they weren’t completely satisfied by the kinky device.

Founder Eloise Monaghan said the promotion was going to run for two weeks but as it was a success it’s now extended indefinitely.

She said: “I couldn’t believe it to be honest. The Venus is our best-selling toy globally so we knew it was good.

“But the spike in sales surprised even me.”

Eloise said the Venus completely sold out in the US, with only four customers in the world returning the toy under the guarantee.

She added: “Two of those customers didn’t want their cash back and opted to exchange the Venus for another toy from our range.”

Honey Birdette’s promise for Venus was most popular in Australia, followed by the US, the UK, Germany and France.

Inspired by the success of Venus, the brand introduced a similar money back guarantee on its best-selling toy for couples – Gemini.

Speaking about the success of the frisky toy, Eloise continued: “It’s traditionally popular at Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries.

“I have heard from customers who’ve used it in the supermarket because it works from a few aisles away.

Eloise sold Honey Birdette to Playboy’s parent company PLBY Group in June.

She is currently in the UK scouting for more locations as part of the brand’s European rollout.

French and German websites for the label will also launch this month.
