The speculation stems from a now-deleted Instagram post.
WHY DO FANS THINK NESSA BARRETT IS ENGAGED?
According to Hollywire, Barrett posted an IG mirror selfie with Jaden Hossler before quickly deleting… and then reuploading.
It seems pretty normal on the surface, but eagle-eyed fans noticed that the deleted selfie featured a flashy diamond ring on Nessa’s finger. Apparently, the ring was then photoshopped out of the snap for the reupload.

It seems the 19-year-old’s photoshopping efforts have gone to waste though, because boyfriend Jaden posted a series of selfies on his IG and there is no missing that ring!
It’s not quite clear why Nessa edited out the gem in the first post, but it’s definitely stirred a lot of speculation and fan theories.

FANS SPECULATE AN ENGAGEMENT
The pair have only been ‘official’ for five or six months, but things have been moving super fast for them.
In fact, it wouldn’t be all that surprising even if an engagement was on the cards.
One fan wrote in an IG comment: “i think she’s hiding it for a reason idk.”
Another suggested: “fr tho wait maybe it’s a promise ring.”
Somebody else wrote: “Why did you delete the last one bestie?”
Replying to the comment, another user typed: “you can see the ring in jaden’s post with her from today in the third pic so I’m not sure why she erased it from hers lol.”
A different person commented: “It’s on her left hand bc her cry baby angel tattoo is on her left hand. But it maybe a promise ring. She also went live on her private.”
Others guessed that the ring could simply be a prop or promotion for Barrett’s upcoming project, Pretty Poison.

As we mentioned, Nessa and Jaden’s romance has moved at a pretty rapid speed.
In fact, just days after officially confirming their relationship, the two got matching tattoos with each other!
Nessa and Jaden reportedly got to know each other better while working on the song La Di Die together, before making their romance official in April 2021.
As per The Sun, a source addressed the couple’s relationship: “[they’re] the happiest [they’ve] ever been.”
