A pastor has been forced to marry the corpse of his fiancee who died following a brutal abortion he made her to have.
Reverend Dr Success Emeka Sunday was coerced by Chioma Okoye’s family to marry her before the funeral after he confessed to his role in her death.
Sunday, a very popular pastor who founded the Life Transformation Praying Ministry in Owerri, Nigeria, didn’t want the child due to the church’s views on babies born outside of wedlock.
In February this year he reportedly invited Okoye to his home before drugging her drink. He then rushed his unconscious fiancee to a hospital and forcibly persuaded a doctor to terminate the pregnancy.

There were major complications with the procedure that led to Okoye vomiting blood. She was then taken to a Federal Medical Centre by Sunday under the guise of a different name.
Sunday let her family know she was extremely ill but she tragically passed away before they could do anything.
The family only learned of the horrific ordeal after autopsy results showed traces of a sedative drug in Okoye’s system. Sunday confessed to the sick acts after they confronted him.
The couple had been dating for five years and got engaged last year.

According to a Facebook post from Anita Nenyenwa Uzoije, a friend of Okoye’s, Sunday was initially arrested but released on the condition that he would go through with the marriage. Her family were said to have pushed him to marry her before she was buried on Tuesday.
Uzoije wrote: “Churches still call this man to come and preach and give ministration, he is still a theology teacher at Bethel Seminary.
“This man is walking freely like nothing happened but we won’t keep quiet.”
She also said that Okoye was from a strong Christian family herself and that her brothers are pastors.
