Some Celtic fans spot something ‘weird’ in 7-second footage of James McCarthy

Celtic fans have taken to Twitter in hysterics after a seven second clip from James McCarthy’s press conference emerged on social media.

What’s the story?

Well, it’s only a short bit of footage, but hilarious nonetheless.

In the video, McCarthy is asked if he’d trained with the youngsters, to which he confirmed he had, and also played a few games with them.

However, his answer sounded as if it was given by Brendan Rodgers, as the 30-year-old sounds exactly like the former Bhoys boss.

As you can see by the reaction below, the Celtic Park faithful absolutely loved the footage of Ange Postecoglou’s new recruit.

James McCarthy is a fantastic signing

Forget the fact he sounds like Rodgers – McCarthy will be an excellent addition to Postecoglou’s squad.

The 42-cap Republic of Ireland international has proven himself as a player of real pedigree across his 272 Premier League appearances.

He is an FA Cup winner, and was also a key member of the Everton side who nearly reached the Champions League under Roberto Martinez.

He will add real bite and energy to Postecoglou’s midfield, which should hopefully see him make a big impact in Glasgow.
