Tori Spelling’s Biggest Fear Came True after Husband’s Infidelity in 2014 — Inside the Family Drama

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have been through their fair share of relationship ups and downs. However, the couple’s journey was made even rockier when their children uncovered the infidelity scandals.

Being one of the world’s most famous stars does not exempt one from marital issues, and Tori Spelling learned that the difficult way. In fact, the “Beverly Hills, 90210” star revealed that infidelity in her marriage was one of her biggest fears.

Unfortunately, Spelling’s fears materialized in 2013, when her husband, Dean McDermott, cheated on her. On top of that, the mother of five had to deal with her children finding out about the infidelity online.

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s relationship has been a topic of conversation since they got together. McDermott famously stepped out on his ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, while working on “Mind Over Murder” with Spelling.

Although Spelling ended up with McDermott in the end, how they started their relationship resulted in insecurity. The actress and author expressed that she was constantly worried her husband would leave her for someone better.

Nonetheless, Spelling and McDermott married in 2006 and built a family with five children in addition to McDermott’s two kids from his previous marriage. However, things shifted for the couple a few years into their marriage.

After tons of infidelity rumors surrounding the couple, publications finally had a story they could run in December 2013. Reports exposed McDermott for cheating on his wife with a then 28-year-old named Emily.

McDermott met Emily while he was out with friends during a promotional tour for his hosting gig on “Chopped Canada.” The pair allegedly flirted while their friends were unaware, resulting in an exchange of hotel room keys.

Emily told Daily Mail that McDermott made her feel comfortable and insisted they use protection during the encounter. She also revealed that the actor gushed about his wife despite claiming their marriage was sexless.

It seems as if McDermott already had regrets by the second time he and Emily met up because she says nothing happened then. Instead, he bragged about his sex tape with Spelling and presented images of his kids.

Unfortunately, McDermott’s conscience acted too little too late with the news of his hookup circulating in the press. Spelling, who was dealing with her worst nightmare, admitted that she did not know what to do at the time.

The actress had spent her entire life in the public eye, so she coped with the news the best way she knew. She let producers document the aftermath of the infidelity news on her reality TV show featuring her family.

Although Spelling was dealing with her worst fear, she and her husband managed to save their relationship. McDermott went into rehab and openly cooperated with Spelling when discussing his mistakes on their show.

Even though the cheating scandal resulted in a sour Christmas and upset children, the couple coped with everything well. Both McDermott and Spelling are now even comfortable talking about that period in their interviews.

McDermott recently revealed that his infidelity had nothing to do with Spelling but resulted from his insecurities instead. Spelling also shared that she isn’t afraid to bring the incident up for discussion when needed.

A recent interview that Spelling did also uncovered how the couple got over their hurdle. The actress presented that she and McDermott had to start over as a couple in order to forgive and move on fully.

As for Spelling and McDermott’s oldest daughter finding out about the upsetting news online, it seems the parents have it covered. Spelling revealed that the scandal opened up lines of communication that were helpful for the whole family.
