Tottenham could have problems in attempting to sign Lautaro Martinez following a revelation surrounding the deal.
According to Football London, a fee was agreed between Spurs and Inter Milan before Chelsea began talks for Romelu Lukaku.
As reported by BBC Sport, the Blues are close to sealing a club-record £97m transfer for the Belgian international. Lukaku was part of Chelsea’s squad seven years ago before departing for Everton.
As per Football London, there are now ‘question marks’ surrounding Inter if they can sell both Lukaku and now Martinez to Tottenham this summer.

It was expected that the Serie A champions would retain the Argentine striker should his attacking partner leave this summer.
Indeed, Inter’s financial problems are no secret this summer. Although the Italian giants could benefit from selling both Lukaku to Chelsea and Martinez to Tottenham, offloading their number 9 for a Serie A record sale might be enough to balance the books.
The revelation could throw a wrench into Spurs’ plans.
Whilst Martinez is seemingly open to joining Tottenham, with Arsenal also keen on the Argentine international according to the Athletic, Inter could block a sale if Lukaku leaves first.
The windfall from such a colossus transfer could allow Inter to keep Martinez. And with Harry Kane exit rumours continuing to linger, Tottenham could end the summer without a new striker.
