Wendy Williams will be taking a break from her show entitled, ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ after reports stated that the talk show host is suffering from continual health problems.
Wendy Williams Is Taking A Break From Hosting After Having ‘Ongoing Health Issues’
This is no secret, given that Wendy passed out and fainted during one of her episodes. While she did make attempts to make sure that her health was better in that regard, it is clear that she needs more time off in order to recuperate.
In a statement given by the show on Wendy’s behalf, they confirmed that she would be focusing on her health. They said: “Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations. She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week, but can’t wait to be back in her purple chair…for the 13th season premiere.”
Wendy’s problems initially started in 2018 when she was diagnosed with Graves disease. This condition is so severe that people can suffer from excessive weight loss, and it can lead to further issues such as osteoporosis and heart problems.
That is why she was forced to leave the show a number of times. In a statement given at the time of her diagnosis, the producers said: “Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ Disease that will require treatment. Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital.”
This does raise the question of how long can Wendy continue to do the show? After all, she is 57-years-old and not going to be getting any younger. Not only that, but she has caused recent controversy over her comments on the show.
She was criticised heavily after stating that she would not be taking the covid vaccine. Although freedom of choice is a critical part in deciding what is best for one’s health, not all her critics saw it that way.
It is ultimately going to be a case of how long can Wendy weather the storm. But given that time is not really on her side, she will have to make a careful decision over her future with the show.
