STEVE Ross is known as the only son of legendary painter Bob Ross.
Like his father, Steve also went on to become a professional artist who some say might even be better than the legendary painter himself.

Who is Bob Ross’ son Steve?
Born August 1, 1966, Steve, 55, grew up surrounded by his father’s career.
While some celebrity kids choose not to follow in their parent’s footsteps, Steve took a different approach and instead learned from his father.
It was reported that the death of Steve’s mother, Bob’s ex-wife, Vivian, was what drew them closer.
Along with learning from his father, Steve also appeared on multiple episodes of Bob’s show, The Joy of Painting.
Following his father’s death in 1995, Steve told The Daily Beast that he had once considered getting into a car accident to “end the pain once and for all.”
After his father’s passing, Steve stayed out of the spotlight and took a break from painting for many years and then returned in 2019 to organize a painting workshop.
He had previously spent time broadcasted painting shows on Tumblr.
“I didn’t realize that people missed me or wanted to have me do this again,” Steve said in an interview with The Daily Beast following his return. “I always knew, but what I mean is, maybe I didn’t want to know. Maybe I reserved the right to remain ignorant.”
It was reported that Steve married but it is unknown to who or if they are still together today.

Is there a Bob Ross documentary coming out?
On August 25, 2021, Netflix is releasing a new documentary on the legendary painter.
Known as gentle and kind soul who painted his “happy little” trees and clouds, Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed, will explore the unknown battles and anger Bob was secretly living with, as well as the bitter disputes between Ross’s son, friends, and business partners after his death.
Despite the dark essence surrounding the documentary, director Joshua Rofé, who is known for his true-crime series Sasquatch, assures fans that their image of Bob won’t be ruined.
“Whenever I tell friends or colleagues that I’m making a doc about Bob Ross, because they know my work and they know it’s usually pretty dark, they say, ‘Oh, my God, you’re going to ruin Bob Ross for me.’ I assure them that on the contrary, I think you’ll leave the movie perhaps loving him even more,” he told Vanity Fair.
“The more I learned about him, the more empathy I found myself having for this man, who I only knew from the show.”

How did Bob Ross die?
Following the loss of his mother at a young age, Steve then lost his father when he was only 28 years old.
In 1995, at the age of 52, Bob was diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer that affects the lymphatic system.
Following his diagnosis, he was only given months to live and died shortly after in July.
