McKayla Maroney accused the FBI of lying about what she had told them while they investigated sexual abuse accusations against disgraced gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar.
“Not only did the FBI not report my abuse, but when they eventually documented my report 17 months later, they made entirely false claims about what I said,” Maroney said during her testimony before Congress on Wednesday.
Maroney’s accusations came during testimony at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing looking into the agency’s failings in the Nassar scandal.
During her opening statement, Maroney detailed a number of incidents in which she says Nassar sexually abused her.
“They had legal, legitimate evidence of child abuse and did nothing,” she said.
Maroney testified in front of Congress alongside gymnasts Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, and Maggie Nichols.
